Tax Controversy Attorney : Washington, DC, DC

Highly respected D.C. firm seeks a junior tax associate with 2-4 years of government tax litigation and controversy experience to work in its Tax Controversies practice group. Ideal applicants will have experience in the DOJ Tax Division or IRS Office of Chief.

Candidates will be working on tax controversy related matters at all stages – examinations, IRS Appeals, Tax Court or U.S. district court litigation, and collections. All applicants must have strong academic credentials, excellent written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work as a team player under deadline pressure. Applicants with an LLM in Tax or knowledge and experience in substantive tax areas, as well as prior experience working directly with the IRS and DOJ Tax Division, or any previous experience as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), will receive additional consideration.
