Our Retained Executive Search Team specializes in chief executive and senior-level management search assignments for law firms, professional service consultancies and start-ups.  We offer a collaborative approach to executive search that is based on a thorough understanding of the strategic, financial and operational issues our clients face. Our proven processes and comprehensive analyses help ensure that no stone is left unturned during your search.

Initial Briefing: Each assignment begins with an initial briefing from the client during which the key parameters of the search are agreed upon and documented.

Consultation: Our team will then conduct a thorough consultation with the client which usually involves visiting the client’s offices and meeting with key executives to discuss the corporate culture, management, priorities and any other issues that may affect the position.

Needs Analysis Profile: We draft and submit a Needs Analysis Profile and a timeline for the client to approve. The document describes in detail the company, the role, responsibilities, goals and key challenges of the position. It also summarizes the experience, qualifications and competencies required for success. These key competencies form the basis of our assessment of potential candidates throughout the search process. The timeline maps out target dates for the interview and hiring process from initial consultation to start date.

Research: Having defined the key selection criteria with the client, we continue our intensive research in order to identify those best qualified for the role. Using our extensive, proprietary database, referral network and personal contacts, we identify individuals we believe may be qualified.

Vetting:  On the basis of our research, we approach potential candidates on an informed basis. Once we determine that an individual is both qualified and interested in the role, we meet in person or via web conference for further evaluation. Before presenting any candidate to the client, we conduct a rigorous competency-based interview. Each candidate is assessed and validated against the position specification and a candidate synopsis is prepared for the client. This provides an easy side-by-side comparison of candidate’s current position, past work history, educational background, compensation, education, and key accomplishments.

After the client has selected their preferred candidate, our consultants conduct thorough referencing to further measure and assess competencies, as well as provide our client with external views of the individual. We also verify each candidate’s academic credentials.

Offer: At the offer stage, our consultants actively  participate in the presentation and salary negotiations. Any unsuccessful candidates are promptly and courteously informed.

Follow through:  Finally we conduct a detailed client satisfaction survey (CSS) after every search assignment. We actively seek feedback from our clients and candidates, identifying any issues from which we can learn in order to improve the quality of our service in the future. We retain an interest in the executives we have placed well after they have taken up their new positions. We make ourselves available to the client and placement to help with on boarding.
